Break Engagement and Build Sauce Empire

In 2002, Zhao Jinfeng, a country girl, was betrothed by her father to the layabout Sun Tieliang for an 8,800-yuan bride price. She calls off the engagement in public and marries his younger brother Sun Tiezhu instead. Faced with a biased mother-in-law, a freeloading elder brother-in-law and a vicious sister-in-law, Jinfeng builds a business from scratch with an ancestral chili sauce recipe. Starting from a leaky top-floor room in the urban village, she founds Lasao Food Factory. Taking her boldness as armor and her craft as foundation, she eventually helps the whole village prosper, registers her trademark, and achieves a remarkable comeback.
